Quality in the Can
With craft beers, we usually get glass bottles or growlers, but that may change as more craft-breweries are switching to— audible gasp!—aluminum cans.
The major challenge is getting over the public’s perception of equating aluminum cans with mass-produced, cheap beer. Aluminum cans are a plus for the breweries, however, considering they keep the beer fresher, they are easier and cheaper to ship, there is less breakage, and consumers are more likely to recycle cans than bottles. If more consumers are willing to purchase quality beer in a can, it might spur the whole industry to think about how it distributes its product.
