Samuel Adams Revolutionary Rye Ale

Samuel Adams Revolutionary Rye Ale

  • Perceptible rye, citrus
  • Pine and citrus, rich
  • Bitter hops, notes of rye malt

Sam Adams rye beer! I’ve been waiting for ten years for something like this. Included in the American Originals variety pack, the Revolutionary Rye Ale was the winner of the 2010 Beer Lover’s Choice. I want to thank my fellow Americans for choosing the rye over another IPA. This variety pack also includes Scotch Ale, which I haven’t been able to find in years, and the Noble Pils, my favorite new beer from last year.

**Samuel Adams** *Revolutionary Rye Ale*, a nice rich, red ale.

There’s a slight rye scent upon pouring the Revolutionary Rye Ale, and the rye is just noticeable on the palate, providing a richness behind what is otherwise pretty much the Boston Ale. This isn’t a negative. Samuel Adams took a great ale and made it great rye ale. Because it’s Samuel Adams, the hops are noble and the ale has that wonderful mix of pine and citrus. The flavor is not revolutionary, despite the name, but it’s a great beer all the same.
