Georges DuBoeuf Beaujolais Nouveau 2010

Georges DuBoeuf Beaujolais Nouveau 2010

Keep it corked

  • Sour
  • Grapefruit, sour
  • No developed tannins

The third Thursday of November is the first day that the years Beaujolais Nouveau are available for sale, worldwide. I have a soft-spot for Beaujolais, a very unpretentious wine, but it’s difficult to find anything but Georges DuBoeuf in my area. I’ve never had a decent bottle from Georges DuBoeuf, but every couple of years or so, I try it again, since each vintage is potentially different, but the 2010 was just a sour mess.

It's a pretty label, so it's got that going for it.

There’s good Beaujolais out there somewhere, but Georges DeBoeuf sells vin de merde, and there’s not much else to say about it, except that it was $7.99.

I liked it. It was grapefuity, but then again, I guess I don’t really like wine.

I recently had a cru from Daniel Bouland. It was out of sight. The 2009 vintage is dyn-o-myte.

Thanks, LurkerKing. If I come across a Daniel Bouland, I’ll try it.
