From Soda Jerks to Tap Houses
As tweeted by @noreasterbeer, Duane Reade, a New York City-based chain drugstore store, has introduced craft beer on tap at two trial locations, with great success—the first, of course, in Willamsburg, Brooklyn. Duane Reade plans to expand its Brew York City Growler Bar into other locations later this year.
This will be a huge boost for the local craft beer business. Duane Reade will be rotating seasonal selections, but a recent list include local favorties from Brooklyn Brewery, Ommegang, Sixpoint, Peak, and Long Island’s Blue Point. Brew York City even has its own Twitter account, where customers can learn when new beers are added to the rotation.
